| Dr. Stevie | So..what exactly are you doing?
The question was posed to Paul London by Elite's therapist Dr. Stevie. They were currently in a hotel room in Memphis. Paul sat beside a window, gazing out at the night sky with a palm resting on his cheek. He was wearing a white dress shirt with black shorts and a dark colored tie that he idly twirled in a slow circle. The supposed mental health specialist stood in a corner of the room with his arms folded.
| Paul London | I'm not entirely sure if I know what you mean.
London reacted coyly, glancing to Richards from the corner of his eye with a mischievous sort of grin.
| Dr. Stevie | The things you have been doing are a little..
He had to pause for a moment and choose his next phrase carefully. He had done some underhanded things in his own right. Such as warping the mind of a nineteen year old.
| Dr. Stevie | ..bizarre. And that may be strange coming from me since some of my methods have been called into question.
| Paul London | ME?
London gasped and motioned to himself.
| Paul London | But I'm Paul London. I'm goofy, remember? Always good for a laugh. And besides..
He glanced to his newly acquired PTG Championship which could be found draped across a nearby table.
| Paul London | ..you can't argue with success. I've got momentum going. And this momentum i going to help me get a victory over Heath Slater at Warfare.
| Dr. Stevie | I suppose I agree. Heath Slater isn't-
| Paul London | ..I wonder what Heath Slater is afraid of. Probably not very much. He has gone through his entire life as a ginger. I can't begin to imagine the hardships he's gone through.
Stevie's eyes began to narrow.
| Dr. Stevie | In my opinion, you have an obsession..
| Paul London | Oh no. I don't have an obsession. It's just universal. Everyone is afraid of something.
Paul leaned back in his chair and his eyes went a little wider with excitement upon addressing the topic at hand.
| Paul London | I just like to find out what those things are.
| Dr. Stevie | Just keep your focus. Punk is looking for a victory from you. He holds that title you're carrying in a very high regard.
| Paul London | Punk has nothing to worry about. It won't take much effort to get past a clown like Heath Slater. I've never been impressed by him. He always seems to hang out with others who are infinitely more talented than him but it never seems to rub off. I've got this.
The door to the room swung open as Brian Kendrick stepped inside. His face was bruised and his clothes were torn. His recent altercation with AJ Styles was the culprit here.
| Paul London | Ah, how did the night go, bud?
| Brian Kendrick | Wonderful.
He smiled without a hint of sarcasm, dried blood on his face. He slumped backwards onto the closest bed.
| Paul London | And the stuff I gave her?
| Brian Kendrick | Worked like a charm.
| Dr. Stevie | Gentlemen, I'm glad your night has been a success. But I want to keep Paul's focus on the task at hand. A victory at any costs.
| Brian Kendrick | Sorry, dad. Who does he have?
| Paul London | Heath Slater.
| Brian Kendrick | The dumb ass that let's a camera man talk during all of his promo's?
| Paul London | The same.
| Brian Kendrick | Please smack him in the mouth for me. I can't stand listening to his voice.
| Paul London | I think I can accommodate that.
| Brian Kendrick | And smack his partner for going out in public with that hair cut.
| Paul London | They will both find the back of my hand very displeasing.
| Brian Kendrick | I bet those two think they're a better tag team than us too, don't they?
| Paul London | Probably so. Poor misguided fools. What kind of name is The Corre anyway? A stupid one, that's what.
| Brian Kendrick | Sick burn, man.
A cell phone next to the Path To Glory title began to vibrate as Paul reached over and opened it. He quickly read the text before standing and slipping the phone his pocket.
| Paul London | My date is ready.
| Dr. Stevie | Paul..
| Paul London | Don't worry, Doctor. I am a gentleman. This will help me focus on Slater. I promise.
Paul took his car keys and departed from the room. The room remained completely silent afterwards.
| Brian Kendrick | Wake me up in an hour. I want to see how many pieces they find his date in.
Stevie rubbed the corners of his eyes. Sometimes he missed having stablemates that were easier to control.
--------
The new scene began in the middle of a well lit park. Paul London and his lovely brunette date departed from a horse led carriage as London graciously paid and tipped the man. Yes. A horse and carriage. Paul did it big when he was trying to lure in potential victims. The woman, clad in a red dress, clung tightly to one of his arms and released an obnoxious laugh that made him cringe on the inside. At least this one would be easy.
| Date | I can't believe I'm on a date with a WRESTLER! And a champion too!
| Paul London | I'm the lucky one.
Paul kissed the top of her wrist as she giggled again. The two went strolling through the park which seemed to be almost totally empty.
| Date | So are you going to be on television this week? Are you wrestling anyone?
| Paul London | Heath Slater. "The One Man Rock Band". He also considers himself a "Rock Band without the instruments." Which sounds like a pretty horrible band to me.
| Date | THAT guy? The one that's always hitting on that Velvet Sky chick?
| Paul London | That would be his partner. They both have painfully low standards when it comes to women. "Miss Perfect Ass". I've seen a lot better lately..
She giggles again at his flirtatious comment.
| Paul London | I don't think he's going to give me a lot of trouble. He's a lot of talk without very much to back it up. That and he's just plain goofy looking. But I guess that's not really here nor there.
| Date | What if that Gabriel guy gets involved?
| Paul London | I believe they have what is referred to as a "bromance". I find it more disturbing than anything else. But I've got a few friends of my own. I hope he keeps this on the up and up. I would like to decide who is the better between us in a fair manner. But I guess I can't control the insecure and misguided. But let's forget about that ginger kid. Picturing him is starting to ruin the mood. Let's focus on us..
Paul and his date join hands and lean in to kiss. But a familiar voice drawing closer interrupts them.
HEY PAUL!
His ex. Playboy cover girl. Former WWE Diva. Ashley Massaro. Why was she here? Why NOW?
| Date | Do you know this woman?
| Paul London | Well..
| Ashley | Yes. We used to date. We're still very close.
Ashley replied very matter of fact kind of way. The date began to glare before storming off.
| Date | Well, why don't you two just catch up then?
| Paul London | Wait, wait..
| Ashley | BYE!
London's eyes began to darken even as Ashley placed her arms around him in a hug. That was fresh meat that just got away. And he didn't appreciate it one bit.
| Ashley | I've missed you so much! Look at you! You're a champion! Congrats! You know, if you want to keep that belt, you should get them to hire me! We can start hanging out again!
| Paul London | I don't need your help, Ashley. I'm a champion.
| Ashley | But what about this Heath Slater guy? He's pretty tough! If I'm in your corner there is no way you could possibly lose!
| Paul London | Heath Slater is nothing. He is a joke. He couldn't beat me if his life depended on it.
| Ashley | You don't know that. He's a newcomer, isn't he? You don't know what he's capable of.
London looked ready to lose his temper but suddenly became very relaxed.
| Paul London | You know what? Maybe I do need your help. Heath Slater is a competitor. And I sure would hate to lose this match. Let's go have a chat. Give me some pointers. Tell me what I should do against this fresh new talent!
London placed his arm around Ashley and she got nice and cozy against his chest. They began to walk away until Paul suddenly gave her shoulder a shove and dumped her into a nearby lake. She surfaced, yelping and splashing about. She had no danger of drowning but it was her biggest phobia. Something Paul remembered. Something that caused him to grin as he continued to walk away. But it wasn't enough. She wasn't supposed to be his victim for night. This was very upsetting to him. He would have to take this frustration out on Heath Slater..
| Paul London | A little swim under the moonlight, Ashley. Trying and enjoy it.
